here are a couple of paintings i've been working on. the first is about containing your desires and secrets. kind of about keeping guilty pleasures i guess. the idea is that mason jars are used for conserving and saving, and often times we keep those secret things in very safe places where only we can reach or know about them. no? i don't know, that's just what i was thinking about. it is ink, oil and charcoal on canvas. i tried my hand at glazing in oil over an ink painting, which i learned i quite enjoy.
the second is just a little illustrations about a man showing up to a funeral because of the royal tenenbaums. i recently had the opportunity to be late to something because it was being played on tv. weather he's the mortician, the husband of the dead, or just a regular funeral goer is up to the viewer i guess. and who doesn't love gwyneth palrow in a fur coat? its mixed medium, but i always had when people say that because i don't know what mediums that means, so for you who are like me and actually want to know, it is ink, acrylic, watercolor and graphite on a wood panel.
